Which houseboat models are Best for Coastal Travel?
Wondering if there are any models of houseboats that are better suited for coastal traveling?
Can the houseboat barge style models such as those from Sharpe, be used for coastal traveling between Boston to Key West?
Or is the catamaran design(or any other) the best for that type of use?
Thank you, Graig.
Reply - AnswerWell Graig, coastal cruising or traveling with houseboats is a question that gets asked often.
My answer would be Yes & No, and it depends on so many factors. The barge style houseboats are not recommended for what you want to do. Houseboats aren't made for consistent "rough open water use".

Houseboat models that "could be used" depending on the weather windows, and a multitude of navigational factors would be models like Bluewater yachts, Carri-Craft, Gibsons, Harbor Master, Holiday Mansions, Pluckebaum, Skipperliner, to name only a few.
Lastly, hopefully some of our readers will share and post comments about their seaworthy coastal traveling houseboat experiences.
