Thoughts on wood hull with fiberglass overlay?

by Alicia
(Seattle, WA)

I am considering purchasing a houseboat that is more like a floating home, no engine. It recently had a brand new wooden hull with fiberglass overlay. I am having trouble finding an insurance company willing to insure it because of the type of hull. They are saying it is higher risk. Can anyone provide some insight as to why this type of hull would be a poor choice for a floating home?
