Macerate - Gibson 2001 50 ft Classic

by Rob
(Cincinnati, Ohio, USA)

Just purchased our first Houseboat. Owned SeaRay cruisers up to this point, 42 was the our last. Question I have is do Houseboats, specifically this year/model have macerate setups? I know when I had inspections on the SeaRays, the thru hull lever from the tank - through the macerate had to be turned off/down. Want to make sure I do the right thing...can't locate but unfamiliar with Gibson and Houseboats.

Thank you.

my 95 50 did not have a macerator from the factory, just Y valves, I did add one just forward of the holding tank under the floor in the storage area

My 2000 50 Gibson has a door in the floor in the aft stateroom. Did someone carpet over your door? If so, it is located directly in front of the bathroom door & amid ship.

BTW, if you disconnect the outgoing hose from the toilet & point it at a large bowl, that macerator makes great slaw.

(Just kidding)
