Any Houseboat Brokers & Surveyors in Shuswap, BC
I live 400 miles from Shuswap, BC, Canada. I want to buy a houseboat and need a broker and surveyor. Who and how do I go about finding people with my interests concerned in regards to buying a good houseboat.
Should I trust locals? Trust is a huge concern for me.
Thanks, Joe.
Reply - AnswerWell Joe, that's an understandable concern, since when you're doing business from far away, you want someone to represent you with your best interest in mind, and trust is a major issue.
For starters, I highly recommend having a look at the excellent new dvd's on buying a houseboat. The dvd covers important topics such as:
60 Tips on Buying a Boat,
the Purchase Process,
the Pre-Purchase Survey,
and the Roles of Brokers-Dealers-Surveyors.The dvd's will save you thousands of dollars in the purchase, lots of headaches & problems, and will allow you to become a knowledgeable purchaser.
In regards to surveyors, you could read the section on our site about
Marine Surveyors to get some names of potential candidates.
As to getting some houseboat broker names, possibly you could call some of the
popular houseboat marinas in Shuswap, BC to get referrals of some good houseboat dealers and brokers locally in the area.
Lastly, hopefully some of our readers will share and post comments about their houseboat buying experiences with people in the area.
I guess this method can be used by anyone looking to purchase a houseboat in another location. I presume it can be useful for virtually any place around the world.
