Houseboating in Redland Bay, Queensland, Australia

I love to go houseboating in Australia, especially the Redland Bay area. It's the closest area to my home in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia.


Since Brisbane is on the east coast and is bordered by the Coral Sea, the Redland Bay area is ideal as it has plenty of hideaways to explore and is mainly a protected area.

Just wanted to share my part of the world, William.

A lot of fellows in Australia are building 30 foot river boats, called Mundoo. They are flat bottomed and draw about 5 inches of water.

Well we here in Florida, U.S., are also building these flat bottom river cruisers. We can travel up the Santa Fe River that's only 10 inches deep.

The boats are 30 feet long by 8 foot wide, powered by a 15hp Honda outboard. So we know how much fun exploring the back waters can be.
