I wanted to let the houseboat community know about our new modern houseboat. It's been a 7 year process to design. The boat can be aluminum, steel or fiberglass depending on the final water destination. More information visit us at metroship.com

Thanks, David.

Well David, congratulations on bringing to the market the "first modern production houseboat".

The house boats appear to have a very modern design, and a open airy style and functionality to them.

Lastly, hopefully some of our readers will share and post comments about their MetroShip houseboat opinions and experiences. Feel free to use the "Click here to post comments." link found near the bottom of this page.

Houseboat Dreams - absolutely beautiful
by: Anonymous

I first saw your design-"metro-ship- the first year it came out and have been dreaming of it ever since. The "housing market-recession" has changed my financial circumstances and retiring on the houseboat of my dreams is now far off, if never, but dreaming I still do.

The designs takes the mundane look of Houseboats to a Contemporary without compromising the integrity and tradition of "HouseBoats". I can't imagine if anyone could afford this level of comfort, why look further.

Metro-ship Houseboats - anyone live on them?
by: Anonymous

Just looking into a houseboat. I use to live on my friends boat in FLA for a few months every year but it was a boat not really a houseboat. I was wondering if anyone has lived on a Metro Ship year round and where. Thanks

New Houseboat Designs - the MetroShip
by: Frederick

I have had a tour of the MetroShip and I think that this plan is exciting, new and interesting, storage is included in the hull.

As a liveaboard this yacht does not encourage clutter; and there are many sizes to choose from which start at 30'x 8'x 7' - 60' x 12' x 7' and anywhere in between.

Interested in the MetroShip houseboat
by: Maria Fay

Hi, where are you located? Do you have a model to see? Will you construct one without any motor, as I want to put it in a marina in NY and never move it? Can you approxmate a price for the base excluding furniture but a list of options? Waiting to hear from you. Thank You

beauty vs function
by: Aaron costic

My wife & I think your design is fantastic. At night it has a wonderful asian feel. Current houseboat builders could take some styling cues from you.

That being said, I am having a hard time with the lack of storage on your design. I hope you can correct me, But I don't see a single closet?

Comments about the MetroShip houseboats

How energy efficient are the translucient panels?

How many of these have been built and sold?

I don't think the design will have widespread appeal.
