Houseboat Windows - how to repair or replace window seals?
When it comes to houseboat windows, how to go about repairing or replacing those leaky window seals?
Does anybody know were I can get new rubber seals for my windows on my 1979 Holiday Mansion houseboat?
Thanks for any help, Kelly.
Reply - AnswerWell Kelly, welcome to the houseboat forums, and sorry to hear about your window seal problems.
When it comes to window seal problems on an older houseboat, you are not alone. You may be able to find replacement rubber seals at a glass window service shop.
If not, you may have to improvise, and use an alternative method with common window trim materials found at your local home hardware store.
In closing, I am sure that this post will draw some tips and ideas from other houseboaters as many of the older houseboat commonly have this problem of worn out window seals.
Lastly, hopefully some of our readers will share and post comments about their experiences in repairing or replacing houseboat window seals. Feel free to use the "Click here to post comments." link found near the bottom of this page.
